When two of the biggest Hip-Hop albums of the year (That also happen to be sequels to Hip-Hop classics) drop on the same day, they are bound to get compared. After all the speculation, delays, and hype, both Raekwon’s Only Built 4 Cuban Linx… PT II and Jay-Z’s The Blueprint 3 have officially landed on your local store shelves (Real & Digital). And the talk of the barbershops and comments sections around the world are “Which album is better?”. Well, I hope most of you saw this poll question coming from a mile away, but…

So no “November 18th”, “Brand New”, “A Night Off”, or “Sooner Than Later”? I see they threw in a Jeezy less version of “Goin’ In”, but still. Add this in with the “Best I Ever Had” video, messing up his leg on stage, plus that shit Bossip put out about the gay rumors and it makes you wonder if Drake can even make it to his official album release. And shouldn’t his label be putting money behind his new upcoming album instead of a mixtape that was released in February…for free?

Okay, back to the original question:

It’s crazy right? A guy sells a million albums in a week and still can’t get a solid release date on the follow up. Oh you haven’t heard? Lil’ Wayne’s seventh album, Rebirth, has been pushed back…again. This time to September (According to one of the project’s contributors). Is Rebirth the new Detox? With “Prom Queen” & “Hot Revolver” not necessarily getting the buzz needed, Birdman claiming Rebirth isn’t a Rock album, and multiple push backs, I’m starting to wonder if Weezy just needs to scarp the whole album and start working on Tha Carter 4. But then again, maybe the Rebirth will surprise me and actually be good. I guess the question is:

Even though we’re not a gaming site, it’s hard not to notice what’s going on at E3 right now. I heard about DJ Hero earlier this year and kinda brushed it off. I mean, me and my girl was on Guitar Hero for a minute but now that plastic guitar just sits in the corner dusty and sad. Why would I want another fake plastic music peripheral cluttering up my crib? But when I saw a video of the game, I finally figured out why I fell out of love with Guitar Hero so fast: I’m a B-Boy not a rocker. This game may not be that bad.

And some details on the songs as well as cosigns from Eminem & Jay-Z (Who even recently did a show in celebration of DJ Hero). So far the tracklist looks pretty good too.

The individual songs themselves have been pulled from a large number of music genres, including grunge, soul, R&B, techno, hip hop, and house. The mixes listed below have been confirmed to be in the game. Additionally, the songs “The Way You Move” by Outkast, “Hip Hop” by Dead Prez, and Tiesto’s “Elements Of Life”, and additional songs from 50 Cent, Justice, N.E.R.D., Beck, Blondie and Billy Squier are confirmed to be in the game. In addition to mixes using individual songs from both Eminem and Jay-Z, including Jay-Z’s “Izzo (H.O.V.A.)” and “Dirt Off Your Shoulder”, there will be a Eminem/Jay-Z mix song. Eminem also stated that he will have additional songs included later in the year as downloadable content for the game. Universal Music Group is providing much of the content for the game.

So, with all that said, are you excited about DJ Hero? Or does it look/sound lame? We’ll know for sure when it’s released on October 27th, but let’s hear your thoughts…

This poll question isn’t a diss at Killa in any way. It’s just today the thought crossed my mind like, “Oh yeah, Cam IS back.” You remember when most of the Hip-Hop nation was asking the question “Where’s Cam?”. Now he’s returned with his first album in three years, Crime Pays, and nothing feels different. It didn’t elevate his status. Now one is saying the words “classic” or even that Crime Pays is the best album of 2009 (Okay, maybe Cam’ron/DipSet stans). And while sales should never really equal the success of the actual music, now there are reports coming out that Crime Pays will move around 40-45k units (How many videos has Cam put out now?). Now, I’m not saying Cam’ron’s career is done; not by a long shot. Those numbers aren’t bad but it’s almost the same as Jim Jones’ last album (Pary For Reign). Maybe Eminem’s return overshadowed Crime Pays. Maybe people want the Diplomats back together. But at the end of the day: Do you really care that Cam’ron is back? You know the drill. Vote. If you’ve noticed the increasing leaks off Eminem’s upcoming Relapse, you probably figured sooner or later the whole thing would leak…well it has. Oh, don’t get it twisted. We’re not posting any links here; we’ve gotten served papers for less. So instead of posting up more songs, why not propose another poll question? It’s simple: Are you gonna actually purchase Relapse? Not saying if the album is good or not, just asking if a new Marshall Mathers’ album is enough to get you off the computer and to the local Best Buy store (or whoever sells CD’s in you area). On May 19th are you having a Relapse?

After all the speculation, we finally know how much Rick Ross’ third album, Deeper Than Rap, sold in it’s first week. It entered the charts at #1 and sold over 150,000 copies. Ever since the projected numbers came out last week, we’ve gotten e-mails from people sharing there thoughts about them. One side says it’s a slap in the face to 50 Cent and shows Ross’ career is alive and well. While the other side says that with all the hype, Deeper Than Rap should have did much better. Of course, we gotta take this to a vote. What do think of Deeper Tha Rap’s chart perfromance? The poll closes on Sunday (And don’t worry, we still did the The Numbers Game).

Okay, so finally both albums by Asher Roth and Rick Ross have officially been released. And both album couldn’t be any more different.
