Last week, Erykah Badu was awarded the 2018 Soul Train Living Legend Award (Presented By Toyota) and I have nothing to say except its about time Toyota gives Ms Badu her flowers.
I’m just here to say that New Amerykah Part Two (Return of the Ankh) is still one of my favorite albums. I want to share my favorite song from the South Dallas Native’s fifth album, the 10-minute epic, “Out My Mind, Just In Time”. Shout out to Creative Control, directors, Coodie & Chike, for the 3-minute visual of the song, but I need all of it. The beat switching into three different songs with the same themes of maneuvering through love is almost as skillful as Erykah’s dance moves.
Here’s to hoping that New Amerykah Part Three will be born in 2019. Peace and Blessings.
