I haven’t really kept up with Joey Bada$$ like I use to. The last time might have been him acting on Mr. Robot. But looking at his latest music video for the song “Devastated”, a few things have changed. One thing is that his no longer trapped in that retro 90’s rap style he came in the game with. That’s a good thing. Another thing is that I think Joey Bada$$ now has the ability to be a star and not just some kid from New York would had a buzz one time.
More improtantly, I fuck with this song and music video. The setting for “Devastated” is basically a Pro Era themed homecoming weekend complete with prep rally and a parade. This all makes for some cool visuals. Directed by Shomi Patwary & Joey Bada$$.
