The slander is pretty well documented about ya boy, the Black Alex Keaton, being a bit of a sneakerhead on The FROCAST. I’m a fetus in the game though. I can’t go back and tell you this specific thing about that specific thing and I don’t go shopping across the globe for rare finds or trying to win raffles….yet. The bulk of my collections are Jordans, but I mostly just buy what I like. So you’ll see me coppin’ a pair of Nike Cortez (“Dopemans”), Nike Air Missions, Tubular X’s by Adidas, Puma Classics, etc.
I’m most happy when Hip-Hop and sneaker culture collaborate, like on the De La Soul Dunks (which I’ve missed out on twice) or the Just Blaze Saucony Grids. The latest collab that seems to have folks going crazy is the Raekwon/Packer Shoes/Diadora Collaboration for the legendary Purple Tape aka Only Built 4 Cuban Linx… (one of King Jerm’s favorite mixtapes of all time). I’m not necessarily a fan of either the tape of the shoes specifically, but the collaboration, the details, I’m here for that. I’m team #WearYourKicks but I could definitely see copping these for the Hip-Hop collection for sure.
