Reporting live from Chi-Raq, Common drops his music video for “Kingdom” featuring Vince Staples. That’s cool and all but the main reason I’m excited is because the video is directed by none other than Hype Williams.
What’s funny is that the end product is almost the opposite of what people expect from Hype’s style; no bright technocolors here. “Kingdom” is gritty and the artists on the song don’t make appearances. Well, they may have been but every face in the video is blurred out so you really can’t tell. It’s also a little twist at the end that kinda makes this whole thing feel like “Smack My Bitch”. Still dope though.
