Exactly 5 years (to the day) after J. Cole‘s mixtape The Warm Up was released a video for “Lights Please” is finally available for fans, stans, honeys and everybody in between to enjoy. Cole stated in an interview with Sway that the reason why the visuals were locked away for all these years was due to him not being 100% happy with the video.
The visuals themselves are pretty basic but dope. The same story is told through the camera as it is through the microphone. It wouldn’t be until later that Cole kept audiences guessing with his concept videos, I guess a bigger budget and fame allows for more breathing room for artistry.
