I talked about Aloe Blacc on the site not too long ago and it was a forgone conclusion that he was gonna do okay with his album Life Your Spirit. Especially when you factor in that he dropped an EP not too long ago with some of the same songs. Also, “The Man” seems to be doing well so Lift Your Spirit may be a slow burner in terms of sales. Life Your Spirit sells 45,000 units and lands at #4.
The rollout for the Young Money compilation Rise Of An Empire seems like it could have been better. It definitely wasn’t like it was during the We Are Young Money days. But Weezy & company are still shooting videos for the project so I guess they can turn things around. Young Money’s Rise Of An Empire sells 32,000 copies and grabs the #7 position. The biggest thing I know about Ledisi is that Saule Wright reviewed her album a few years ago and almost gave it a perfect score (He also recently hyped her up on nappyafro’s Facebook). Besides that, I really don’t have anything else. Ledisi’s 6th album, Truth, lands at #14 and sells 19,700 units.
