When that 50 Cent piece dropped on the actual intro track for Get Rich then straight after the beat for “What Up Gangsta” began all those that were listening knew that the year 2003 was Curtis’.
This song is a combination of contradictions and it works. You have a New York City rapper who sounds like he’s from the south shouting out both Crips and Bloods.
This idea ran throughout Curtis Jackson’s debut.
