I’m embarrassed to admit that I’ve read almost all of Karrine “Superhead” Steffans’ books; even the one where she taught women how to be whores so they can keep their men. Then again, I’ve read my fair share of these Hip-Hop tell-alls so if you knew me, it wouldn’t be that surprising (Shout out to Miss Jones, Carmen Bryan, Kimberly Osorio, etc). So of course when I heard that Superhead had a eBook devoted to her relationship with Lil’ Wayne, I kinda had to read it. The outcome is some ratchet shit and mostly involves Karrine leaving her kid for weeks at a time to lay up with Lil’ Wayne. The moral of the story? Don’t smell Weezy’s braids or you will fall victim to his pimp hand.
Notable Moment: When Superhead wakes up her then husband Darius McCrary, aka Eddie Winslow, at 3am so he can move his car out the way so she can see, and fuck, Lil’ Wayne. To his credit (or discredit), Darius McCrary later chokes out Superhead over an argument over Weezy’s rapping ability. Crazy.
Should you read it?: It’s a short read so why not? Also, it’s great for women looking to be the next Superhead. It’s also bad for women looking to be the next Superhead.
