For this week’s edition of SOTW I wanted to bring things a little closer to home. Closer for me anyway. This week I stumbled upon one of my favourite artists I used to listen to as a teen. Scribe is a MC from Australia’s neighbour New Zealand. For those of you that know the rapper Savage you may have heard of Scribe by association or vice versa.
For my high school buddies and me, Scribe was one of our heroes. Even though he wasn’t from Aus it still felt like one of us made it. We especially felt this way when “Dreaming” came on the radio.
When you listen to this song you can tell that Scribble came from humble beginnings and worked hard to make it to where he is. Now I know Scribe probably isn’t a household name to those of you out in ‘Fro nation that dwell in the Northern hemisphere but I think you’ll like his music all the same.
This song is an anthem of those of us who want to stick with our dreams.
