I have feeling that these Song of the Week segments are going to have me going down memory more then anything else. My apologies if this seems like my own personal blog but hey, no one else is writing these up so you’ll just have to bear with me.
Anyway I am a big Snoop Dogg fan. And as a fan (not a stan) I feel there only a handful of Snoop’s albums I actually like. Of course there’s the classic Doggystyle….and….ummm….Doggystyle.
Joking aside I feel Tha Blue Carpet Treatment is also a decent offering from Tha Doggfather. But one of my favourite albums of his growing up was Tha Last Meal. Sad to say I only bought the actual CD last week and have been playing the posse cut “Set It Off” non-stop.
Say what you want about Snoop-a-Loop but the guy does rep the West Coast to the fullest. What else can you ask for when you have Cube, Lady of Rage, MC Ren, Nate Dogg (R.I.P.) and even Kurrupt at the end talking shit, all on the same song.
I suppose if it was going to be a complete Left Side track they could have replaced the Timbo beat with something from Fredwreck.
