Crooked I feat. Slaughterhouse – “Monsters In My Head”

B-Easy February 20, 2012 4

I’m always up for hearing a new Slaughterhouse track, this particular one is from Crooked I‘s upcoming mixtape Psalm 82:6. But I had the feeling I heard it before. It was the beat & Colin Munroe sung chorus that was familiar. Then it hit me: Game used the same instrumental, chorus, & title on his HoodMorning (No Typo): Candy Corona mixtape. Funny thing is, the same thing happen to me when I heard Stalley’s “30,000 Wolves” a week or so ago (That beat was also from a Game mixtape, Brake Lights).

What was I talking about again? Oh yea, SLAUGHTERHOUSE!!!

cool song, but your article sums up what I think about mixtapes nowadays. Overused beats. Anyone outside of 50 tyson can cut a dope mixtape song to that “Closer” beat by Goapele…and sadly most have. They either overuse beats or cut some tremendously wack ones for mixtapes.
