Today I listened to Angie Martinez interview Young Jeezy. About half of that interview, Jeezy explained why it’s taken so long for Thug Motivation 103 to drop and how he had to go back to the hood for inspiration. Then he premiered his new single “Shake Life”. Not exactly what I was expecting.
Don’t get me wrong, who doesn’t love the “Georgy Porgy” sample? You even gotta props for the inclusion of some social commentary. But if Jizzle wants people to get excited for TM103 (And he’s been having trouble with that since last year), “Shake Like” probably won’t achieve that.
