Freddie Gibbs & Statik Selektah feat. Daz – “Rap Money”

You gotta give it to Freddie Gibbs, it’s hard pressed to find a bad verse from the guy; he’s mostly always on. So hearing that him and producer Statik Selektah and Gibbs would record Lord Givith, Lord Taketh Away, an album recorded in a 24-hour period, I was excited to hear the finished product. While this isn’t Statik’s first marathon recording session for an album, this may be his best one.

If “Rap Money” is a sign of what’s in store on Lord Givith, Lord Taketh Away, I’m even more excited to hear the rest of the album. I’ll admit I was surprised about the Daz feature but after a actually listening, him and Gibbs have similar gangster.

Lord Givith, Lord Taketh Away drops at mindnight on iTunes.

Young Barry White. The geek out of the bunch. He is also Jay-Z’s biggest fan. He looks like your cousin from the burbs. He is “Pro Black” (not anti-white, just “Pro Black”). Probably the wittiest out of the bunch. It is said that he got fired from the same job three times.

This is what I’m talking about right here! Freddie is the man! I really hope dude sell and be successful. It is nice to hear Daz once again putting it down with the new school.

Statik Selektah’s beat is so hollow, i’m disappointed that Freddie Gibbs is going this route even with following Jeezy’s label. Gibbs is a really talented rapper, but id really like to hear him over some fuller sounding beats, like maybe Daz shoulda produced this or somethin’. Anything but Statik Selektah or 9th Wonder.

I loved what came from Statik and Saigon’s 24hr session.
