Dr. Dre’s “Kush” Video Is A Lot Like T-Pain’s “Rap Song” Video

B-Easy December 10, 2010 10

Hey, I’m not dissing Dr. Dre or saying that he stole T-Pain’s idea for Dre’s new video “Kush”. I’m just pointing out that both videos use that same exact effect as the theme and that “Rap Song” came out about a month ago. What do you think?

The more I listen to “Kush” it is not that bad but Akon really make the song sound wack. And Damn Dr. Dre why did he had take the same idea as T-Pain?

  • Kevin

The Dre video is better, simply because Kush is a way better song IMO

this visual effect was used in the other guys.
say what u will but the tpain version is fun while the dre version is bland.
theres dude looking at a goat in the t pain one. thus it is legit. that is all.

Aight I actually work in VFX so I’ll school you guys on some stuff you dont know about it. This is the original video that started the whole look http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQ3D4CqHbJM

I know Todd the guy that did T-Pains video and hes extremely talented and he even gives props to Dre’s video because both are inspired by the video I posted.

Its not called jacking its being inspired by others to push the limits its done in movies, music, graphics etc.. all the time.

    Both videos are well made

please, y’een know shit. David Fincher and Kevin Tod Haug alone were using this style as far back as ’99 in Fight Club.

What’s most interesting is whether or not they were aware of the other doing it. Dr. Dre’s video did not take a single month to make.
