I’m not sure how to feel about this: On one hand, the beat is bland, the hook is annoying, and this might be evidence of what I was saying could ruin YelaWolf’s debut (Trunk Muzik: 0-60); too many obvious poppy features.

But on the other hand….is it just me or is Gucci getting a lot better? Maybe my expectations are just so low and when he does sub-par it seems dope.

Whadda y’all think? Is Yela goin’ in the right direction?

    Gucci is getting nicer but only on guest apperances (his track on Son Of Chico Dusty is fire!). He can’t hold down an album though, and sometimes has trouble holding down songs without some help.

    I agree that Yelawolf is going in the wrong direction. He has the ability to drop some hot lines, but it’s not going to matter if the choruses are as wack as this. I think he should hook up with Organized Noize and more bass type producers. Btw, Slug or Brother Ali>Yelawolf>Asher or Eminem

      I agree on Brother Ali but Slug is overrated as shit.

        I never heard anyone who liked Ali but not Slug. Slug is an underground legend…been holding it down since 1997 without any commercial help. He has one of the deepest discography’s out there and puts on some of the best shows i’ve ever seen. Didn’t he open at number 3 a couple years ago without any adverstising??? Yeah, overrated. One of the realest white rappers out there.

      he should do some off the wall shit, like get Field Mob on a track with Willie Nelson, or do a southern white boy track with Bubba Sparxxx and Paul Wall.

      get B.o.B. to produce….hell, get Lil B to produce (just dont let him spit)
      Flip a Lynard Skynard track or something….

      I just don’t want him to do what I’ll take BETS he does do,
      and thats water it down and sweeten it up for the plebs….but we’ll see

    Yela is one of the more creative dudes in hip-hop period. I wouldnt worry too much.

    Plus, since when is Gucci a poppy feature?

      I meant poppy there more like Yela and Britney Spears, not so much Gucci.
      but he does fall in the “obvious” category… I mean I’m checkin’ Trill OG right now….and up pops Gucci, the dude is everywhere
