The Diplomats – “Salute”

DIPSET IS BACK!!!! Every since the news of Cam and Jimmy talking to each other over the phone squashing the beef broke…we knew this one was coming. What more can you ask for…Jimmy, Cam, & Juelz on the same track KILLING IT! On the Araabmuzik produced tack, I can’t help but notice Jimmy coming with the Drizzy flow. Damn, Jim Jones has stepped his game up during the time of the split. Now that I think about it, the split might have been the best thing for the Dips. Jimmy learned how to rap and Juelz is in his PRIME right now, so I feel the squad is better now than they were. I think this one song has shifted New York Hip-Hop back to Harlem. DIPSET IS BACK BITCH! Update: Added Vado remix.

  4. B-Easy says:

“Or Diddly Diddly, yeah I sell Heavy D…”

    Ha!

But yeah, this is not that hot.

It’s pretty cool. I like it… However, it’s nothing groundbreaking.

  6. Arkitekt says:

i’d rather listen to this instead of some singing bullshit

  7. Mr. Jones says:

uggggh the rapping is good but that beat is fucking horrible. I miss the soul samples of early dipset. Jim Jones is a better rapper now and so is Juelz, but this can’t work because that hallow beat is a mess. Disappointing.

    SPOOOKY.

Alright, I know that Jimmy’s ad-libbing isn’t as good as Jeezys, or really anyone in general, but it’s hilarious how he just says the word.

However Jim Jones has vastly improved, and the first time I really took notice was in the song “Go,” with Curren$y (Helps that the video / production / Curren$y was also Creative Control affiliated, and 2010 only makes me more interested in what will happen to Jim Jones now. I just might go download the mixtape that he put out too.

But, the production sucks, even though I’ve heard arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaaaaabbbbbbbbbbb muzik is a alright producer. Dipset is starting to have some relevance.

The Dips were at one point the only relevant group movement on the east coast. Maybe starting to regain some relevance, but a lot of it never left…

  9. King Jerm says:

I’m feeling ALOT of Dipset hate going on. I expected B-Easy to hate it, cause he HATES the good Dipset stuff, but LOVES the garbage. That’s how I know this shit is FIRE!

@Chew…what you mean by “starting to have some relevance”? NIGGA THIS THE SET! ALWAYS RELEVANT!

  10. Chip says:

Sorry but Jimmy hasn’t gotten much better. POME was his lyrical peak and thats not very high
