Distant Relatives debuts at #5. Doesn’t that sound nice? Only 4 spots for the top. Okay I know they only sold around 55,000, but it’s still a 1/2 victory that Nas & Damian Marley landed in the Top 5. The other 1/2 of the victory is Arkitekt gaving the album a 4.5 out of 5 in his review.
Coming up next is Janelle Monáe‘s 2nd album The ArchAndroid (Suites II And III). Of course we didn’t review it, but I honestly thought Saule would come through and do something on it (In his defense, he is in the process of moving to another state right now). I had the chance to check out the album and I must say it’s nice (“Cold War” would be my nappyPick off that album). For being outside the box, I pull for Janelle. Her album lands at #17.
And the final debut this week is Hi-Tek & Talib Kweli’s return as Reflection Eternal. Their Revolution Per Minute album lands at #18. After the 10 year wait I thought more fans would shown more love. But hey, the album is still good. SBK gave Revolution Per Minute 4 out of 5 in his review. I shook my head at that rating, then I listened to that album more. Then I shock my head at myself; it’s a slow start but there are gems to be had on that album.
