The Numbers Game: Rihanna Strikes Gold

In seven weeks, Miss Robyn Rihanna Fenty has crossed the Gold mark with her 4th album Rated R. Hey, even I doubted her even getting this far. But I do think if she drops another hit, maybe in another 2 months or so Ri-Ri might be getting a Platinum Plaque.

I included Ke$ha here for a few reasons: She released her album, Animal, last week (And we don’t get too many releases around this time of the year), her album debut at #1, and she was on the chorus Flor Rida’s hit “Right Round”. I also caught a few of her performances and it seems like it the same thing every time (Here & here). Congrats are still in order. She’s not Hip-Hop or R&B though so she probably won’t be mentioned her next week.

Other thoughts:
Trey Songz WILL get his first Plaque (Yes, his first) with Ready. The upcoming tour will Hov & Jeezy will elevate him even more.
Good to see Snoop Dogg back in the Top 50. I still don’t think him re-releasing Malice N Wonderland is a good idea though; Jay-Z remix or not.
