The Numbers Game: The-Dream Is #2

thedream31909

The-Dream’s sophomore album Love Vs. Money debuts at #2 and outsells U2’s new album, No Line On The Horizon. Wow. I guess I’m surprised because I always thought The-Dream’s music was sometimes corny (“I Luv Your Girls” was catchy, but still…). I’m happy for the guy and I’m not going to go as far as call him Hamburglar because (As other sites call him), but I guess I don’t see the big deal. Congrats all the same.

J. Holiday debuts at #4 with his new album Round 2. I would be lying if I said I can identify 1 song of his new album. Hey, didn’t The-Dream write his song “Bed”? That’s all I have. Moving on…

Also making a debut this week is Brother Ali with his new album The Truth Is Here at #119. I’m sad to see it here because we didn’t have time in the schedule to review this album. It’s not a bad listen and you probably should check it out.

And lastly, Rihanna finally falls out of Top 50. After 92 weeks, Rihanna’s Good Girl Gone Bad does not make the Top 50. I feel like a dynasty is over. Peace.

India Arie is my girl, but I hate to see her hippie marketing work against her. Those numbers are pretty dismal and it’s a shame, her album is really good. I commend her for her stance…matter of fact, I think I will go buy 2 more copies today. Imma keep hope alive.

Rhianna’s people are too busy doing damage control to order their usual round number of copies like they do every week.

The Dreams album is dope as hell, I can’t front. I don’t want to like the dudes music, but he’s like R.Kelly without the pee.

I didnt even know The Dream had an album coming out until Tuesday when I saw an Ad for it. Him beating U2 just shows how dominant Hip-hop is right now.

The Dreams album is quite lack lustre.

Dream goes hard, my fave in R&B right now. Corny?! No sir.

    lol @ saule wright

Rihanna’s ppl are DEF busy with damage control. Im not sure what they will come up with…but ordering another round of 13,400 albums has to be put on hold.

As for The-Dream. I think he is pretty legit. His first album was dope to me. Call him corny if you want. Corny and catchy are the same thing. I call it creative.

btw, I hope to see Ne Yo get plat.

I want all the fail. Trash music. Rap is crap.
