The Numbers Game: Beyoncé Is #1 (by B-Easy)
November 27, 2008 by nappyafro.com Staff

Did anybody think Beyoncé wasn’t gonna get the #1 spot this week? I mean, this is her third straight #1 album. But don’t ask me about how I Am…Sasha Fierce sounds; I only heard the songs played on the radio (I asked my girl and she mumbled something about bullshit and walked off). Well, I do think Mrs. Hova will do better than Usher. Ace Hood debuts on the charts this week and does exactly what I thought he would: he sold around 25,000 copies of Gutta. That’s not horrendous but does this mean we won’t see another Ace Hood album? Think about it, he got some push before his album with appearances on BET cyphers as well as a XXL magazine cover. In other R&B news, Slim of the group 112 dropped last week and his numbers were serviceable (is it me or is dude too chubby now to be called Slim?). The other Hip-Hop debut this week is from Houston’s Lil’ Keke. First of all, shot out to P-Body; he actually asked us to review that album. As you may know now, we didn’t review Loved By Few, Hated By Many. Why? Nobody didn’t want too. It got lost in the shuffle. Also this week, Rhianna finally goes 2x Platinum after re-releasing Good Girl Gone Bad a hundred times (At least that what it feels like it). I guess I can’t hate on her milking the same album for over a year. I see Lil’ Wayne still pushing around 20,000 copies of Tha Carter III weekly. Who the hell is still buying this album? Now, let me get off this computer and go relax.

Well, I expected Ace Hood to get at least 30k, with all the promotion, but I guess he fell short of my expectations. Beyonce, of course, with the mainstream popularity she has, and a decent music career, of course she garners #1. This week for rap, not so great. Happy Turkey Day nappy crew and all members in it!
i think well see another ace hood album as long as dj khaled is alive but his album wasnt all that bad……………my predictions for next week
kanye=300,000-375,000………………
luda=120,000-210,00…………………..the best album out of the 3
e-40=prolly similiar to ace hood or a lil more……………
First week Sales:
Kanye West = 400k+ (Max) Gold
Luda: 150k+ (Max) 200k
E-40 (WAs his album good? I might cop it): 25k - 30k (Max) 35k?
Ye’s album polarizes folks like a mofo. They either think its fucking great, or fucking terrible. He will still move about 500k cause he’s Kanye. Luda’s album is solid and will get some help dropin with Ye and move abt 300k. That E40 is a little disappointing and I think his single never made top 10. Off name rec, he will move 50k. Topping out at 125k.
don keke still da man o and sumbody review the ball street journal i mean damn!!!!
Dang! Beyonce looking good in that picture!
