word of advice, when you rate an album, you shouldn’t compare it to other albums BY OTHER ARTISTS.

for you to say that you gave it a 4.5 because you gave the recession and paper trail (which are both overrated, but not bad, to me), actually CONTRADICTS your interview.

if an album’s a 4.5, then you should be talking a LOT of good and VERY, VERY, VERY, VERY little bad.

as far as “i do it for hip hop”, i don’t expect jay-z to be as lyrical as he used to anymore, but it was still a good verse. if you was expecting him to spit some “reasonable doubt”, “blueprint”, or “black album”-like shit, then DON’T. american gangster was proof that he can get a reasonable doubt sound again, but he can’t go back to the reasonable doubt flow. that was his underground shit, it’s out of his system now.

ludacris will always be a dope mc to me, and this album wasn’t his best, but it was definitely better than release therapy. unfortunately, this project may be his least selling album, while his worst album release therapy got him an award.

i guess that’s the industry for you… even ludacris can’t go platinum with 9th wonder and dj premier. that’s sad.

I was suprised to see you gave this a 4.5/5, when it seemed you had a problem with every track in your review.

The M.V.P. beat is insane! And the 9th wonder beat is nasty too! I say it’s a little too much filler for a 4.5. Plus Jay-Z came real soft.

Top 5: Undisputer, Everybody Hates Chris, Last Of A Dying Breed, M.V.P., Do The Right Thang (fav)

Last of a Dyin Breed is aight. Lil Wayne goes off beat and hes kinda bitin himself and just reusing bars from previous tracks. Regardless if it’ll help sell the album, Luda murked him. If Wayne is the last of a dying breed…we all fucked.

guy, wut i’m tryna get at is, if you don’t think this album is a 4.5 or even a 4…don’t put it just because other albums that you didn’t like as much as this is rated higher. Cuz then ur opinion is deff. irrelevant. I mean, u bashed like a good 6 or 7 songs…yet it gets 4.5…makes no sense.

Yeah true that, I wouldn’t expect Def Jam to put the money in to shoot 11 music videos for the remaining songs that don’t have videos already. That would be great if they did and released it as a deluxe version or a box set package. I’m pretty sure if they did that it would increase the album’s sales and make the album more appealing to listeners. Oh well just wishful thinking I guess.
