The Numbers Game: Q-Tip Lands At #11 (by B-Easy)

November 13, 2008 by nappyafro.com Staff

Not really much to report in this edition of The Numbers Game; I think the real fireworks start in about two weeks when Kanye & Luda drop. But there are a few things going on this week: First off is Q-Tip’s new album The Renaissance almost getting in the Top 10. Even though Thic Saul gave it a great review, I really didn’t think it would chart as high as #11 (It was a good album; I just didn’t think people would care). Also we have Unk’s 2econd Season coming in at #104 which is weird since he was selling his whole album on Amazon for like $3. Damn. Also looking at Lil’ Wayne’s Tha Carter III still in the Top 20, I think he will actually go 3 million…or more. That’s really all I got today. Peace.

#6 John Legend/Evolver (Last Week: #4) - 72,113; Total: 205,207 [2 Weeks]

Damn well Nas don’t care anyways, he got a fan base. His best selling album is “It Was Written” (1996), which I feel that is his best album besides lost tapes, illmatic, and gods son.

Wayne and T.I is killing the charts

  3. Infamous F says:

Yea, I was looking for Nas too, smh…

Lol, wow someone bought Unk’s shit!

  4. V-G says:

Unk’s shit was on sale for 3 dollars yesterday…. lmao

Nas NEVER had a chance to move major units with Untitled, because the same people that bought his earlier albums aren’t around anymore and he didn’t try to reach any new fans.

    @ V-G

so all of his fans died? He got to have at least 500K fans! Damn homie, when I was in high school, you was the man homie!

  6. V-G says:

Naw they aint die lmao, they’re just not on the scene anymore, or his scene more specifically. A rapper can hype a fan up as a one-time buyer or a life-time buyer and that 400-500 thou he pushed was mostly life-times and not a lot of one-times….

I just made this up as I was saying it, but it sounds pretty good!

  7. Chew says:

Wow, Q-TIp getting above 30k? Yes, thats the same thing I would’ve thought. He just doesn’t have that mainstream would really give much care. I think thats the thing that really matters this week.

  8. nigha dont be trying to leave wayne off the list just bc he still n the top 25… y’all nigha disgust me actin like wayne aint relevant.. damn that.
