Great review on this album Saule! I agree with you on this album and you reviewed it nicely. I have been listening to this album daily since I first downloaded it and I'm definitely gonna go out and support Q-Tip in purchasing it. I would put this down for Best Album of 2008 against the likes of 'Paper Trail' (T.I.), 'The Recession' (Young Jeezy), '808s & Heartbreak' (Kanye West), 'Tha Carter III' (Lil Wayne), 'Theater Of The Mind' (Ludacris). This is such a complete album as you hardly have to skip any tracks and can listen straight through from beginning to end. Also, the beats and mood of the album keep it flowing so smoothly. The original T.I.P. (not T.I.) is officially back with this real Hip-Hop album.

^If you don't have any tribe albums, then I doubt you like soulful production and probably won't like this album.

Great review Saule. Probably the best review written for this album that I've read. Overall The Renaissance is great. Has a soulful sound from beginning to end, and you can tell this album was highly "Jay Dee" influenced. I would even have this over Q-Tip's debut: Amplified. No skips. No average tracks. Only standouts and good songs.

Top 5: Official, You, We Fight/We Love, Life Is Better, Shaka (fav)

Grade: (4.5/5) A ... one of the top three albums of the year

Yo Roddy, make sure you let me know what you think man. It seems like they have gone with the Dancin' Machine sampled "MOVE" as the second single from the album...unfortunately. "You" should have been the second single. Get at me fam.

Just copped this earlier. Looking forward to spinning it from what I've heard so far. Will be checking the track "you" with great interest. What you said about it kinda hit home. lol

@ Chew you definitely need to check out A Tribe Called Quest albums from the early 90's, their last good one was Beats Rhymes And Life (1996) album.

This album is pretty good though, I have to admit that.
