Song of the Week: Eazy E - “Real Muthaphuckkin G’s” (by King Jerm)

October 22, 2008 by nappyafro.com Staff

eazy-ecover.jpg It’s time to take it to the West Coast with this installment of Song of the Week. The year was 1993, and Eazy-E was taking some major shots from some of his old associates. But that didn’t stop Eazy from releasing a diss of his own. The person that this song was aimed at will always be remembered for the sequined outfits and having on more makeup than some women at the time. Yeah, Eazy took an “L” on “Dre Day” but Dre definitely felt Eazy’s wrath on “Real G’s!” Eazy didn’t stop with humiliating Dre, but he also went in on Snoop. But that isn’t what makes this song a classic, the video gave a more visual look that added comedy to the song. People thought that Eazy had fell off when Deathrow Records was exploding, but little did they know that Eazy was still making money off of them, and his biggest payday was around the corner. He didn’t get to see it, but he will always be remembered as a force and an iconic figure in Hip-Hop. R.I.P Eazy-E and to the rest of you guys remember…Eazy Duz It on this installment of Song of the Week!

    Great diss and one of my favorites. DJ Yella got down with that beat

  2. Calvin says:

    yeah good song. rip eazy-e. speaking of yella, somebody told me he makes porn now or something?? is that true?

  3. P-Body says:

    Man I don’t know, I hope he isn’t on the actual porn hopefully he is just doing the music. Lol

    R.I.P. Eazy-E, he was one of my favorites as a kid besides 2Pac, Spice 1, Geto Boys, Biggie, UGK, Nas, and Wu Tang.

  4. King Jerm says:

    yeah he produces the porn. he isn’t actually getting it in.

  5. LP says:

    Funny how this is the song of the week. In the past week I’ve been banging this song on my itunes living up the golden age of the west coast.

    One of his best songs for me. Always gotta wonder how the game would have been if some of these great rappers were still alive. RIP Eazy

  6. P-Body says:

    Damn you’re right King Jerm, he sure do. I just thought about it, I remember seeing a video or something with him talking about that shit.

    @LP
    This is one of my favorite songs from Eazy-E too. I have all of his old albums, and even though he didn’t write his stuff, and he had a funny voice he was still tight to me, and you can tell he was real with his stuff.

    I do at times wonder if the game would be different if a lot of these people was here, but we’ll never know though. A lot of people died too early, and too soon.

    R.I.P. Eric Wright (1963-1995)
