Song of the Week: Scarface - “Mr. Scarface” (by King Jerm)

The year was 1991, and Scarface had just released his first solo album, Mr. Scarface is Back, and little did the world know, but one of the most influential rappers of all time had hit the scene in a major way. Back in the day when there was little to no airplay for a Southern artist, Scarface somehow got his raw street tales played on the radio. Looking at all the FCC rules and red tape that is known as the radio today, there is no way this song or any of the other ones that got some airplay back in 91. The song is “Mr. Scarface” and this song was played (without the cursing) on the radio, and it is still one of my favorites to this day. To my over 25 crowd, this one is for you. Maybe next week I will do something for the youngins, but this one here is for the “old school!” So enjoy this installment of Song of the Week!
