The Numbers Game: Yung Berg Debuts At #20 (by B-Easy)
August 21, 2008 by nappyafro.com Staff

Ha! You thought I wasn’t gonna make this Numbers Game in time did you? Okay, so you probably didn’t really care, but let me keep fronting. This week we only have one big debut in terms of Hip-Hop. That lone spot is held by Mr. “Dark Butts” himself, Yung Berg. I guess having a video on TRL doesn’t guarantee heavy sales anymore as Berg pushes 20,000 copies of Look What You Made Me (I guess that’s not too bad considering who you ask). I also realized that after 12 weeks, Usher’s Here I Stand STILL hasn’t push Platinum (And somewhere Dark Angel is crying). He’s been sitting at 900,000 for a few weeks now. Looks like Wayne is finally stalling out after making a monster run with Tha Carter III (I guess you were wrong about Weezy pushing 5 million huh Slik?). Other than that, it’s mostly the same. Shall we…
#6 Lil’ Wayne/Tha Carter III (Last Week: #5) - 61,661; Total: 2,204,760 (2X Platinum) [10 Weeks]
#9 Rhianna/Good Girl Gone Bad (Last Week: #9) - 42,267; Total: 1,636,704 (Platinum) [63 Weeks]
#17 Lloyd/Lessons In Love (Last Week: #7) - 22,102; Total: 73,386 [2 Weeks]
#20 Yung Berg/Look What You Made Me (Last Week: NA) - 19,274; Total: NA [Debut]
#21 Nas/Untitled (Last Week: #17) - 18,659; Total: 335,176 [5 Weeks]
#31 Usher/Here I Stand (Last Week: #31) - 12,354; Total: 977,416 (Gold) [11 Weeks]
#35 Plies/Definition Of Real (Last Week: #38) - 11,921; Total: 458,803 [10 Weeks]
#36 David Banner/The Greatest Story Ever Told (Last Week: #39) - 11,495; Total: 113,127 [5 Weeks]
#37 Chris Brown/Exclusive (Last Week: #43) - 11,490; Total: 1,749,010 [51 Weeks]
#48 Three 6 Mafia/Last 2 Walk (Last Week: #43) - 10,030; Total: 206,982 [8 Weeks]
#115 Janelle Monae/Metropolis: The Chase Suite (Last Week: NA) - 5,222; Total: NA [Debut]

Good stuff on another edition of The Numbers Game Eazy. I always enjoy seeing what the numbers are looking like in the music industry every week, keep it coming.
Lol @ “Mr. Dark Butts”…Looks like his ass ain’t moving shit for all of the hype he was talking regarding his debut album (which was really poor!). Like you said Eazy I guess it goes to show you that hit singles don’t translate into record sales nowadays for everybody. He had a good run, but his career is just about dead after this release.
Damn Usher is so close to that platinum plaque and he has been close for a while now. I think he’ll reach it in a few weeks though, it’s a given for him. If he had released another single I think he would have reached platinum status quicker, but there weren’t too many single quality songs on that album as there were on his previous albums.
Ah yes, that’s exactly what I said on a previous edition of “The Numbers Game” back at the end of July. “I think Wayne’s steam is starting to run out though and his album has had its time…I don’t think he’s going 3x Platinum cause he’s not as big of an artist internationally as he is in the U.S.” That’s exactly what I said and I think it’s coming into fruition. That shit ran it’s course and now it’s time for something else to take the stage.
Yes sir, Nas is getting closer to that Gold status. That’s what I’m talking about especially for a real hip-hop album, which isn’t really heard much nowadays. Lol, the RIAA are gonna have to give that “N.I.G.G.E.R.” gold!!!
What’s up with that pic B-Easy?
Damn, I wonder who bought Berg’s album.
^^^ everyone who didn’t hear the dark butts comment.
Very funny….
Who cares what Yung Berg say? He is wack, ya’ll spend too much time worrying about that bitch ass nigga. That nigga got an opinion as well, so fuck what he have to say.
R.I.P. to Sho Nuff
