50 Cent Tops Forbes’ Hip-Hop Cash Kings 2008 List (by B-Easy)
August 18, 2008 by nappyafro.com Staff

Damn, I didn’t wanna post this (We like to try to be original here). But hell, you know people wanna know who’s making what is the recession. Forbes‘ just released it Hip-Hop’s Cash Kings 2008 list and with the VitaminWater deal and all, I think everybody knew 50 would be on top. Of course the 2nd and 3rd spot is occupied by Jay-Z & Diddy. It’s funny; even though the South has been on top for a minute now, we still have three New Yorkers on top (Yeah, and on that note where is Jeezy?). But let’s be real people; are these the real “Hip-Hop Cash Kings”? If 50 Cent pulled in $150 mill what is Jimmy Iovine pulling in? It’s good to see artists like The Game and Weezy showing up on this list seeing as how much work they put in. Also, did you notice how Eminem, Dr. Dre, & Lil’ Jon are still on here? If you can sit at home for a year or so, not release new material, and still make more than artists like Akon, Weezy, & Jermaine Durpi, you doing pretty well…
1. 50 Cent = $150 Million
2. Jay-Z = $82 Million

4. Kanye West = $30 Million
5. Timbaland = $22 Million
6. Pharrell = $20 Million
7. Swizz Beatz = $17 Million
8. Snoop Dogg = $16 Million
9. Dr. Dre = $15 Million
10. Ludacris = $14 Million
11. T.I. = $13 Million
11. Lil’ Wayne = $13 Million
12. Eminem = $12 Million
12. Common = $12 Million
12. Akon = $12 Million
13. Jermaine Dupri = $11 Million
13. Lil’ Jon = $11 Million
14. OutKast = $10 Million
14. Chamillionaire = $10 Million
14. The Game = $10 Million

can’t believe Fiddy beat Jay! Jigga is like the greatest businessman ever. But he stepped it up: from 38 mil last year to 80 mill this year! And 50 with 150 mil, crazy! you know what I would do for that kind of money??
What?!
Ha! Don’t even ask me what I would do for $150 million!
You can’t believe that 50 beat Jay? What kind of deals has Jay closed to make 80 Mill? I’m trippin at Common making the list!
Jay bought Hotels, sold 50% of his stake in 40/40 Club, and American Gangster went 2X Platnum. What about his (former) Def Jam salary?
Why do you guys ride Jay’s dick sooooo hard on this website?
What’s the big deal about Jay being 2nd on the list??! I’m surprised Chamillionaire made it up there! Where has he been?! (maybe I’m late..)
Lil’ Jon??? That’s The Biggest WHAT THE FUCK of the year! LIl’ Jon Ain’t Did Shit Since 06′!
Yeah Lil Jon really haven’t put out shit. I’m kinda shocked to see Common Sense up there, but he have been acting in movies though. Movie money is killing music money. How did the Game be up there? Where is Young Jeezy? Where is C.O. Rick Ross at since he claim how much dope he sold? Answers anybody?? Please let me know
@ Hustla…why would dope money make the Forbes list?
Uh lil jon has his own brand of energy drink, sunglasses, a winery, produces music, and was still getting paid by tvt till he left. I think that equals some millions haha
Yo, how did The Game get there?!
I saw this same list yesterday, and was stunned by this year’s outcome. Last year’s was acceptable, but come on. How did Common get on here? I could understand Lil Jon because he is the president and CEO of BME records, and we all know that independent pays much better than mainstream lol! However, he hasn’t done anything in a while…..unless he’s still producing beats.
Where was Ice Cube and Jeezy at? Cube is Independent and went gold. I guess they’ll be on there next year?
yo where was cam’ron, and remember the name Golden Child ill be on this list in the future
50’s that dude man…………business wise i think he is more apt than diddy and jay-z…………..and man wtf lil wayne gotta b really sippin tht syrup and is prolly really stupid business wise cus he should expand himself more into other market and shit like a big bussiness deal or sumthin………….i mean cmon he owned 2006-2008 in the WHOLE hip-hop game and hes inly #11?????????????
