Not quite fam. I heard a slew of the mixes and remixes and concepts for the American Gangster album. Largely, they were, outright bad or average. Songs were off-tempo, or mashes that made no sense. Then there were some, that were great. Kevin Nottingham did the dirtiest work and loaded about 30 or 40 said remix albums on his website at www.kevinnottingham.com and gave you links and DJ info. I listened to a good number of them and essentially, found a track or 3 that were stellar on each one I listened to, and the rest were eh. So what I decided to do was come up with a top picks album. Sure, it may not be cohesive, but the idea is to give you a bangin’ album(excluding the intro). So where we have it, the BEST REMIXES of American Gangster as selected by ya boy, Thic Flair. For the record, I didn’t create or remaster any of these songs. I take NO credit other than listening to hours of the same lyrics over and over for you, our nappyafro readers. I even made a lil cover just for this entry…call me dedicated. Call you appreciated. This is going to be a big year for us, keep checking back often.
