Gorilla Zoe|Welcome To The Zoo
On the strength of some mixtapes and features on some big songs, Gorilla Zoe drops Welcome to the Zoo. He had created some buzz by his street hit “Hood N***a” now, Zoe was ready to prep an album for the masses.
Songs of the Week: Master P – “Bout It, Bout It Part 2″ + “Break ‘Em Off Something” & TRU – “Swamp Niggas”
I have to admit that I was once a “No Limit Soldier” like a lot of other people, but with me it was a little different. I really loved that Master P music. Master P is the reason the South took over the rap game in 1997 and never looked back.
Hell Rell|For The Hell Of It
Damn, this is the second straight week that I had to review a Dipset album. Why am I complaining? Because The Diplomats related albums we reviewed this year so far, in my opinion, weren’t that good (Well, King Jerm liked More Than Music Vol. 2 but sometimes he be tripping).
will.i.am|Songs About Girls
I miss the days of Black Eyed Peas. The days of “¿Que Dices?”, “Love Won’t Wait”, “On My Own”, “Cali to New York”, and “Weekends”. Back when the movement was largely underground
XXL’s “Leaders of the New School”
In their upcoming November issue, XXL lists and co-signs Hip-Hop’s Next Superstars or “Leaders of the New School”. While we don’t necessarily agree with the list, everybody got their own opinion right? At least some rappers who aren’t yet that well know got to be on the cover of XXL. But come on, aren’t half [...]
Twista|Adrenaline Rush 2007
Yes yes! I know its been a minute since y’all muthafuckas heard from P-Body, and I know people been missing me. I been ducking from the FEDs, and also been busy as hell. Ok Ok Ok, lets get to the real business. Twista is back and trying to blow like the Chi-Town
Song of the Week: 50 Cent – “Smile (I’m Leavin’)”
Yea, it seems like 50 Cent in going to get his ass handed to him by Kanye in the battle of first week album sales. Not that I have a problem with that. Even though I didn’t get to review Curtis (King Jerm got to do it here), I didn’t think it was as bad [...]
Chamillionaire|Ultimate Victory
Curiosity killed the cat, and radio and video killed Chamillionaire for me. I was tired of “Ridin Dirty”, so much so, that I never considered dude at all. Then I heard he was gonna drop the use of “the n word” and clean up his rhymes.
Havoc|The Kush
Havoc, one half of the duo Mobb Deep, releases his debut album titled The Kush. After hitting the national scene in 1995 with The Infamous, Havoc never grasped the limelight like his partner in rhyme Prodigy. Things have changed since then, they left Loud Records, went to Jive, left there went to G-Unit. [...]
